1. In the new version(Original had 100 divisions named Bharata) of Mahabharat, there are 18 parvan sections.
2. The other name of Mahabharata is Jayam. Ja is equal to 8 and Yam is equal to 1.Jayam represents 81, but the maths principle in Sanskrit says ‘Ankaanam vaamato gati’ that is when Numbers are expressed lyrically they must be read from right to left. So Jayam means 18.
