Kritavarma was a partial incarnation of the Maruts, who were the storm gods of the Hindu pantheon. He was a powerful Yadava warrior and a contemporary of Lord Krishna, who famously fought on the side of the Kauravas in the Kurukshetra war.
- Kritavarma was the commander of the Narayani Sena, Krishna's army, which Krishna gave to Duryodhana. This is why he fought against the Pandavas.
- His decision to fight with the Kauravas led to a rivalry with Satyaki, another Yadava warrior who fought for the Pandavas.
- Kritavarma was one of the three survivors from the Kaurava side at the end of the war.
